Livelihood Development
Our livelihood programming begins with a rigorous climate vulnerability and livelihoods analysis of the target population. We conduct local market analyses to identify viable income-generating opportunities, facilitate cooperative development, and prepare business plans for smallholder groups. Technical assistance continues through implementation, covering bookkeeping, marketing, and business management — ensuring sustainability well beyond project timelines.


Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA) Capacity Building
EPALSCO delivers structured CSA training programs designed for the specific agroecological conditions of each project area. Our approach employs a two-stage model: Training of Trainers (ToT) targeting government extension staff, NGO partners, and community extensionists, followed by Farmer Field Schools (FFS) delivered by the trained team. We systematically integrate Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) principles throughout all training interventions.


Forest Management Planning
We apply a bottom-up participatory approach to forest management planning. Starting with stakeholder identification and community mobilization, we conduct socio-economic surveys and participatory resource assessments to establish baselines. We then facilitate the formation or strengthening of community forest cooperatives, prepare simplified Forest Management Plans, and provide ongoing advisory, coaching, and mentoring support during implementation.
